WELCOME

WELCOME was a one-night-only exhibition of new work by Daniel Munn that subtly explored themes of hospitality, labour and economic instability.

Inspired by the unseen work required to prepare a service environment, Munn used everyday objects—including mint-error coins placed in a penny tray and a custom-made tablecloth—to create fictional glimpses into the private lives of people working in the service industry.

"A table of guests leave. Their plates and cutlery are removed. Tableware and linens are taken away. The table is wiped down and new linen and settings are laid. Everything is done to ensure that the area is prepared for its next guests."
