Newton Gully Screen Society 5
As the second-to-last film of its Autumn season, the Newton Gully Screen Society screened John Cameron Mitchell’s cult musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001)—the story of a genderqueer rock singer from East Germany—followed by "other musical delights."
The Newton Gully Screen Society offered a free film screening series, generally presented fortnightly on Sundays in the gallery space, running from April to June 2008. These screenings continued the experimental film programming established by the Cinema Obscura events curated by Sean Monro throughout 2007, maintaining a focus on obscure and challenging cinematic experiences outside the mainstream.
