LOST: SHADES
LOST: SHADES, an original theatre piece presented by The Society of Paper Dogs, explored the broad spectrum of loss—from profound exile to the everyday frustration of misplacing one's keys.
Using a low-fi, multidisciplinary approach, this theatrical experience combined puppetry, masks, physical theatre, live music and excerpts from the writings of Sally Rodwell and Alan Brunton. LOST: SHADES continued its run with a performance at Happy in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington in January 2009 as part of the NZ Fringe Festival.
The Society of Paper Dogs was founded in 2007 when two members of Roadworks (an off-shoot of Red Mole) moved to Tāmaki Makaurau and joined with local actors and musicians. They aimed to continue developing the distinct style of work Roadworks was known for—an expedition through poetry, drama and comedy.
