That gap between execution and intent
–
Conceived by the Two-Fold Graphic Design Collective (AUT Honours students Anzac Tasker and Cassidy Dodge), the exhibition That Gap Between Execution and Intent challenged conventional design showcases. Through prints, photographs and small-scale installations, the presentation deliberately prioritised the raw, critical thinking process—which the designers termed "hunch-play and shift"—over the display of polished, final solutions.
To align with this focus on process, the collective specifically chose Cross St Studios for its physical rawness and lack of "pretentiousness or affectation”—an environment that helped foster public interaction and dialogue among students, design professionals and educators.
